Clean toilets, great bands and lots of cider! (2009)
Rain, bands, rain, rain and more bands! (2008)
Wow! We did it!!!! (2007)
Clean toilets, great bands and lots of cider! (2009)
Have we really been doing this for three years?! Weird.
We've got so many memories from 2000trees mark III that producing a cohesive summary is not gonna be easy (and we are lazy lazy men). So for want of a better idea here are some random thoughts:
- THE BANDS: - Most important thing obviously. Show stealing sets from Jim Lockey, Crazy Arm, Danan "wall of cuddles" ayckroyd, Imperial Leisure and a foliage covered British Sea Power. And who could forget the biggest and happiest Trees crowd ever for the King Blues?!
- THE CAMPSITE: - Impromptu acoustic sets from the istartedthedfire guys! The return of Camps Frank and Reuben (please come back every year!!). And lots and lots and lots of smiling faces.
- TOILETS: - We wouldn't usually mention this but Jimmyd from the Trees forum said it was his "best festival poo experience to date". That's good to know thanks Jimmy. Oh yeh, we also got shortlisted for Best Toilets at the UK Festival awards - boo ya!
- BOOZE & FOOD: - Well Suzie's burgers certainly appeared to be popular, as was the rest of our organic and tasty festival fodder. And how about the monstrous consumption of Badgers Bottom (we didn't run out!), Cotswold Lager and the Jackie Treehorn White Russians?! Good work people.
- HEADPHONE DISCO: - Well you loved this didn't you? Never have so many people danced in so many wellies in complete and utter silence - genius! And moshing to Hanson followed by Rage at the Headphone Disco really was a new one for us! It'll be back.
- OTHER EVEN MORE RANDOM THOUGHTS: - John Barber skanking. Captain Pugwash fancy dress. Rainy Friday. Saturday nights bar party. The lovely lovely Trees festival goers. Sunny Saturday. Awesome basically!
Until next year....
Peas. Out.

So, how to encapsulate 2000trees the sequel in just a few words? Well it was bigger, better, badder and also .....erm wetter!
Yes folks, the Gods of Weather once again came to rain on our parade. In fact, there was so much rain that just down the road the annual RAF Airshow was cancelled. Proof, if proof were needed, that you guys are harder than Her Majesty's Air Force and in the true spirit of the UK festival goer you sucked it up, got down and dirty and came out the other side grinning through the mud!
We are very pleased to say that 2000trees 08 was pretty darn green (a staggering 78% recycling rate and AGreenerFestival award don't you know?!) and as always we try to give you the best value for money with our cheap prices, "real" food and strictly limited ticket numbers. It's what we're all about.
But more important than anything else the bands were, in our humble opinion, truly ass kickingly immense. We could talk forever about the highlights...
Who could forget Frank Turner's four (yep four!) sets including a two hour "Camp Reuben" jam? Beans on Toast crowd surfing in the Leaf Lounge anyone?! The infamous Anomalies mud interface? Eddie Argos' juggling skills? The twenty legged skank machine that is Imperial Leisure!? Ghost of a Thousand's Tom repeatedly head butting the mud? And that's before we even mention the general brilliance of Future of the Left, Peanut Albinos, The Master Chaynjis, Jim Lockey and the Duke Spirit.
F**cking ace basically. Even if we do say so ourselves.
So looking towards 2009 we'll have more of the same with some awesome bands already in the pipeline, but this time with a side order of sunshine! We're sure you're going to love it!
See you down the farm July 2009!

The first ever 2000trees was a huge success and we would like to say a massive thank you to each and every one of the 1,500 people who came along and danced, sang, slept in the sun, sheltered from the rain and generally just drank too much cider!! We had a great time and by the sound of the feedback so did you!
If you want to relive the experience then please check out the photos and video we've posted above (you may even see yourself in there somewhere)! Special thanks go to the intrepid photographers who worked tirelessly around the site over the weekend. Amongst others they were: Laura Moseley, Jon Mackay, Jim Ropner, Holly Swain and last but not least our own Brendan Herbert.
We also can't resist giving ourselves a pat on the back for being the cleanest festival site (so say our team of experienced scum-busters) the friendliest festival site (so say the security guys) and the safest festival (so say the first aid crew). Happy days!! Some would also say it was the largest consumption of cider at a festival EVER, but we won't go there...!
On the main stage, acoustic stage and GreenHouse we featured over 50 bands from every genre you can think of. With top talent from the worlds of rock, indie, hip-hop, metal, pop, folk and dance (check out the line up listing below for full details of everyone who played last year). Rest assured that in 2008 the music will be bigger, better and more varied and because we are lovely people, we've taken on board the comments you've made about who and what you want to see. So watch this space...
Did we mention 2008?! Er... well yes, we did! We had so much fun last year that we've just got to do it again. So you'll be pleased to hear that 2000trees will be back at the wonderful Upcote Farm in the Cotswolds on July 11th and 12th 2008. We just couldn't resist the temptation of recreating the magical moments we experienced last year - do you remember the awe inspiring sunset (avec hot air balloon) on the Saturday night??!
Hopefully, it just goes to prove that it is possible to organise a blinding festival without being sponsored by some huge corporation and charging exorbitant prices for tickets and t-shirts...
So, we'll look forward to seeing you in a field near Cheltenham for the 2008 reunion this July.
Roll on 2000trees 08!!
Thanks again
